I hope you are enjoying the Making Zen Online Retreat. It is such a pleasure being part of it.
I am Ali Baecker, the artist behind 3 Dotted Penguins. I am a printmaker, teacher and surface designer living in Zurich, Switzerland.
I use the medium of block printing to explore pattern and surface designs. All my designs come to life through the meditative and slow process of carving blocks by handand building up prints and patterns by placing inked block after block. My work is inspired by my daydreams about the (far away) sea and my everyday adventures (near and far) and influenced by my engineering background and my love for geometrical shapes.
Coming March 2023: The Repeat Pattern Deep Dive Series is coming back in a new format
Dive deep into the world of block printed repeat patterns. Learn about different designs and standard tessellating shapes, and also improve your block printing skills along the way. Learn how to combine your blocks and how to add new blocks, and make your own tessellating shapes. Show your work and learn not only from me but from the entire group of participants.
